Necromancy - The Manipulation of energies between Life & Death

The Darkest of all the Magickal arts is undoubtedly Necromancy, the ancient method of communication with the dead. This is Divination by means of ghosts and corpses, with the second method leading to the disinterment of corpses and rifling of graves for grisly charms which magicians and witches consider necessary for the effective performance of this magical art.

Necromancy is a universal practice of great antiquity, only the profoundly initiated, brave, and single-minded magician has any chance of success in such a venture. Always considered to be extremely dangerous as it is thought that the "astral corpse" has an intense desire to live again and could, by absorbing life-energy from living creatures, prolong its life indefinitely, thus, unless he/she has taken adequate precautions, the magician might be in great danger.

To evoke the dead the magician needs to obtain the help of powerful spirits, both for his own protection and to compel the entity to submit to his will. Spells are requisite to bind the dead. Other requisites could also be necessary to successfully summon the dead.

Necromancy is considered to be amongst the most dangerous of any type of magick practiced. The rituals and practices involved giving good reason to believe thus. The rituals themselves look very similar to those used in Demonology so much so they are often mistaken for the summoning rituals.

The similarities are found in the casting circles and runes used during necromantic rites. For the most part, there is no difference between the two. Remember necromancers you are after all calling upon the dead, so it makes perfect sense for these similarities to exist.

If and when you become a seasoned practitioner, remember that the same dead you are calling upon could start to leave residual traces of them onto yourselves. You may start to experience their presence even in their absence and in the most extreme cases, they may not cross over at all.

As you start your journey in the land of Necromancy, you should never work alone or attempt any kind of magical work that you yourself know is way beyond your realm of expertise. In the beginning stages of your path, work with a seasoned practitioner of this art. I cannot express this enough; until you are a seasoned practitioner never work alone. Things can get out of hand way too quickly and you could incur some major disastrous results.
