What Unites Us?

Lucifer is not a metaphor for greed and pride, but one for rebelling against the closed-minded request of an oppressive entity.

Lucifer represents the free of mind, the freedom of choice, and of belief. So what is it that truly represents pride and the closed-minded?

The one they all call god from the Main Religions, he that requires you to bow to enter into a Kingdom where you will eternally be bowing even more.

Lucifer represents our ability not to be slaves to the oppressive, and that truth and enlightenment lies within, and not in an external oppressive being that requires what our nature contradicts.

So what unites us Luciferians? Is it Crowley’s “Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be the Whole of the Law” aka 93, a mantra often adopted by Satanists? In our case, we should elaborate that this mantra is not a license to do things without consequences, but it’s a reminder that with great freedom comes great responsibility.

We don’t want to get too tied up to Crowley or Thelema, but since he’s got a bible, and we don’t, then Crowley’s bible becomes as good as anybody’s when it comes to handing out quotes. Maybe our interpretation should be that the Book of the Law / Liber AL is just HIS way of expressing his freedom. After all, Crowley forbade discussion about the book, maybe it’s a signal that we should all have our own books.

But then the argument comes into play again, one that has been raised before, which basically boils down to herding cats, if everybody wants to do their thing, then what unites us?

I believe the following does ...

Firstly, freedom, your realization of it, and the responsibility that comes with it.

Secondly, Lucifer as an inspiration, archetype, template, association, and the intelligence, artistry, and ingenuity that follows it.

Thirdly, respect for oneself, nature, and all other living beings. These three axioms could be the core of what unites us.

Could it be just this simple?
